What is the Maternity Neonatal Voices Partnership?

Who are we?

We are a group of parents and professionals who work together to help shape and develop maternity and neonatal services provided by both Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General Hospital.

We are led by two service-users – Nas, who had her baby at Bradford Royal Infirmary, and Sarah, whose baby was born at Airedale Hospital. We have also welcomed Beth in 2026 as Neonatal Engagement Lead, covering both Bradford and Airedale.

We are also supported by CNet (registered charity number: 1135599) and the VCS Alliance (registered charity number: 1199129).

What do we do?

We listen to women and families’ experiences of maternity and neonatal services at the two Trusts, then work closely with the staff at each Trust to ensure that these are heard, and are used to shape care.

We love meeting with women and their families to hear their experiences and ideas. We also travel across Bradford District, Craven – and beyond – to speak to those who have used these services. We are always happy to come to speak – and listen – to groups.

The Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) meets 4 times a year and is made up of community organisations, individual service users, and partner agencies including Heads of Maternity and Community Midwifery Teams from Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary.

If you'd like to join us, get involved as a service user or through your work, or receive details of meetings please sign up to our mailing list

Our aim is for children with Down syndrome to live their best life and achieve their full potential - we aim for inclusion and education in a mainstream school.

There are 5 training modules on our website aimed at maternity staff and health visitors. They are only 15 to 20 minutes long and free to download. The first is about meeting a baby with Down syndrome and their parents. You will meet baby Sam and Orla.

Giving a new baby and their family the best positive support possible around diagnosis and birth (whichever order that comes in) is vital to the wellbeing of the family. Every mother remembers the minute detail of birth and the first few days - we have to get it right. These videos will help. Follow the link below of contact me at our centre in Bingley 01274 561308
