15 Steps at Airedale Neonatal April 2026

The 15 Steps for Maternity toolkit is a nationally co-produced resource designed to capture first impressions of maternity care environments. It is based on the principle that the first 15 steps onto a ward can strongly influence perceptions of care quality.

In April 2026, Airedale Hospital Neonatal Unit hosted a 15 Steps visit. Beth Dunne (Neonatal Engagement Lead for Bradford and Airedale Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership) and Sarah Szpara (Senior Sister, Neonatal Unit) met up for a small review of the 15 Steps information and to see how the Neonatal unit is getting on with the recommendations that they were given at the last 15 Steps in February 2025.
