Listen in

Listen in is an ongoing programme of involvement, at the heart of our partnership’s decision-making.
Leaders from our Partnership Board, senior managers and a wide range of colleagues from across our health and care system play an active part, coming out on community visits so they hear directly from people and deepen their connections within our place.
Since 2022, through our Listen in programme, we have developed a rich and dynamic understanding of what matters most to our communities.
During 2023, we visited 97 different community groups and talked to people in public settings like markets, bus stations or libraries right across Bradford District and Craven from Bentham to Bierley and everywhere in between. You can read what people told us, in reports about each locality.
To act on what we’ve heard, we brought our citizens, our workforce, and our leaders together to think together about solutions and ideas that are now being tested. You can get involved in our 'Listen in...so what page'
In 2024-25, we are focusing on listening to communities whose voices are sometimes quieter in our system. Our cycles will reach out to key communities of interest over the year including:
- children, young people and their families - report now published
- inclusion health groups - report now published
- disabled people and their carers - report now published
- LGBTQ+ communities - report now published
- racialised communities - report due September 2025
- men from white working-class communities - sessions planned July - Aug 2025
And we don't just listen - we act on what we hear.
All the insight from our Listen in programme has been shared to influence the national NHS 10 year plan. We used what we've heard from local people to create as our local strategy for health. care and wellbeing in Bradford District and Craven, which will be published in September 2025.
