Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership has successfully secured £3.4 million funding from Keighley Towns Fund to develop a Community Health and Wellbeing Centre on the former college site on Lord Street.

Possible services provided from the centre will include physical and mental health clinical practice from primary, community, and secondary care, alongside a range of complementary services and activities from the local authority and voluntary and community sector organisations.

It will make the most of training & education, workforce, estates, and digital technology opportunities to address local inequalities in a community setting. It is intended to be an exemplar facility for others, to drive and demonstrate long term economic and productivity growth through investment in the health and wellbeing of a town.

Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities approved the funding contribution for the scheme in 2023; key project activities have been re-started and project governance arrangements are being re-established. The timeline for the project has been revised with scheme completion expected in 2027/28.

We want to bring together a Citizen Panel to help ensure a balanced patient and public perspective in evaluating potential designs and service configurations for the new Keighley Health and Wellbeing Centre.

The citizen’s panel will have a two-way route of communication to the project board, putting forward suggestions, questions, and comments throughout the development.

This citizen panel will take part in workshops and meetings, help identify issues and solutions, provide information to decision makers about the impact on service users, and encourage wider participation from local communities at key milestones throughout the development.

The citizen panel will be facilitated by Here4BDCC, a consortium of local community organisations, with support from the health and care partnership involvement team.

Please complete our survey if you're interested in taking part in the Citizen Panel for this project, or a potential panel for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust's New Hospital Programme.

Community engagement is key to the successful delivery of this scheme and a range of community engagement and involvement activities will be undertaken throughout the development of the scheme to ensure that the design of the building works in the best possible way for local communities.
